The Governor of the Fergana region, Khayrullo Bozorov, received Muhammad Monirul Islam, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bangladesh to Uzbekistan. 

During the meeting, discussions focused on expanding the scope of trade and economic ties between the Fergana region and Bangladesh, particularly in sectors such as textiles, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, leather processing, and IT. 

The governor began by introducing the region’s economic and investment potential, as well as its infrastructure and logistical conditions. He emphasized the importance of enhancing inter-regional cooperation to further develop trade, economic, and cultural relations with the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
Muhammad Monirul Islam highlighted the potential for cooperation between Fergana and Bangladesh, noting the willingness to intensify these relations. In particular, the ambassador expressed readiness for collaboration in the textile industry, mentioning the possibility of sending Bangladeshi experts and engineers to the region. He also addressed opportunities for cooperation in leather and footwear production, agriculture, and trade, as well as the establishment of connections between the region’s higher education institutions and Bangladesh in the field of digital technologies. The ambassador also noted Bangladesh’s developed pharmaceutical sector, which exports products to more than 140 countries, and expressed interest in partnership in this area.

The governor affirmed his readiness for collaboration across all sectors and announced plans to send a delegation of Fergana entrepreneurs to Bangladesh in the near future.
