During the meeting, the parties discussed ongoing joint projects and future cooperation opportunities.
Earlier in May this year, Governor Bozorov met with the Governor of Chungcheongnam-do Province, Kim Tae Heum, where they proposed establishing a “Fergana Trade House” in the province, which would serve as a platform for the trade of agricultural products and an exhibition center for goods from the Fergana region. This proposal was warmly received, and practical measures have since been initiated. During today’s meeting, it was announced that construction of the “Fergana Trade House” in South Korea is nearing completion, and preparations are underway for its official opening next month. It was emphasized that the Fergana region’s agricultural products should be placed in this trade center, facilitating broader access to the Korean market.
The South Korean delegation extended an invitation to Governor Bozorov to lead a delegation to the opening ceremony of the Trade House. They highlighted that this visit would also present an opportunity to gain deeper insights into the economic potential of Chungcheongnam-do Province.
The meeting was also attended by Khurshid Normatov, General Director of “Uz-Segan,” who spoke about the commencement of fruit and vegetable exports from Fergana to South Korea and discussed possibilities for expanding the scale of these exports. Participants shared perspectives on the promising business partnerships being established between entrepreneurs from both regions.
In addition, discussions were held on investment projects for developing new agricultural lands and proposals for transforming existing farms into agro-cooperatives to enhance production capabilities and boost the overall efficiency of agricultural enterprises in the region.
