At the “Reception House” in Vodil, the Governor of Fergana Region, Khayrullo Bozorov, met with a group of consultants engaged under the World Bank’s project “Livable and Resilient Cities in Uzbekistan.”
During the meeting with the group led by Mohammad Nada, it was noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and the World Bank is entering a new stage. According to the cooperation agreements, Margilan city and Kuva district from Fergana Region have been selected among 16 target districts (cities) for intensive and integrated regional development.
Special emphasis was placed on increasing industrial and agricultural production in these areas and transforming Margilan into a district free of unemployment and poverty. The discussion also covered a master plan project aimed at improving living and recreational conditions, as well as enhancing entrepreneurship opportunities in Kuva district and its surrounding areas, with a focus on providing better services for residents and tourists. The potential involvement of the World Bank in implementing these projects was also reviewed.
The parties exchanged views on job creation in infrastructure, tourism, and industrial sectors, as well as the effective use of modern technologies and implementation of planned pilot initiatives.
The meeting concluded with an agreement on future prospects for cooperation.
