A delegation led by Khayrullo Bozorov, Governor of Fergana Region, paid an official visit to Omsk Region of the Russian Federation. As part of the visit, a meeting was held between the Fergana delegation and representatives of the Omsk regional government. During the discussions, the two sides explored prospects for cooperation in key areas such as education, tourism, industry, agricultural exports, and employment.

The visit was acknowledged as a significant step toward strengthening mutually beneficial relations between the two regions and further developing trade, economic, cultural, and other forms of cooperation.

Governor Khayrullo Bozorov emphasized that today, Uzbekistan-Russia relations have reached a new stage—characterized by multifaceted strategic partnership and trusted collaboration. He noted that interregional ties are gaining momentum, with 122 joint ventures currently operating in Fergana in partnership with Russian counterparts. In the past year alone, 26 projects were implemented, attracting $113 million in direct investment.

He stated that cooperation will continue on a new level, with particular focus on implementing joint trade and economic projects, and expanding collaboration in tourism, agriculture, IT, and healthcare. He proposed establishing regular exhibitions, fairs, forums, and craft events between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of both regions. He also invited entrepreneurs from Omsk to visit Fergana to explore its economic and investment potential and implement joint initiatives.

The meeting also included a discussion on launching dual education programs between universities in Omsk and Fergana, training medical specialists, and providing students with access to high-quality academic and practical experience.

Speaking via videoconference, Omsk Region Governor Vitaly Khotsenko expressed readiness to deepen cooperation, implement joint programs and projects, and emphasized the significance of building strong interregional partnerships.

Presentations during the event highlighted the economic potential and opportunities of both regions in detail. Agreements were reached to accelerate joint project development and expand collaborative efforts.

In addition, the delegation engaged in open dialogue with local business representatives as part of the visit’s program.

Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Dmitry Volvach and Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Russia Botirjon Asadov also participated in the meeting.
