The first phase of the Fergana Wholesale Distribution and Logistics Center has officially opened in the Omsk Region of the Russian Federation. This initiative will now allow high-quality agricultural products grown in Fergana to be delivered directly to Russian consumers.

As part of an official visit to Omsk Region, a delegation from Fergana Region, led by Governor Khayrullo Bozorov, attended the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed "Fruit City" wholesale distribution and logistics center. The event was also attended by Botirjon Asadov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Russia, along with Russian government officials.

Established by Uzbek entrepreneurs, the new logistics hub was built with an investment of 700 million rubles and spans over 9 hectares. The modern complex includes 16 spacious hangars, each measuring 380 square meters, designed for storing, processing, and selling fruits and vegetables under optimal conditions. The market also features 72 retail outlets selling various agricultural, food, and consumer products. A key component of the center is its well-organized transport infrastructure, with designated parking for 450 trucks, ensuring seamless logistics operations and efficient product handling. Additionally, a Fergana Trade House has been opened within the complex.

The Fergana delegation toured the new facility to observe the infrastructure in place.

Speaking at the event, officials emphasized that the project was implemented under the initiatives of the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Russia, and that it will further strengthen the trade and economic ties between the two countries.

Governor Khayrullo Bozorov expressed gratitude to those who contributed to the realization of the project and highlighted its significance in bolstering regional cooperation. He noted that while the first phase of the logistics center is now complete, preparations are already underway for the second and third phases of construction.

“Today, we are launching a vital logistics center that will ensure the steady delivery of agricultural products from Fergana Region to the Russian market. This is a clear result of our mutual cooperation, trust, and strategic partnership. Fergana has vast agricultural potential, and this state-of-the-art logistics center will play a crucial role in delivering our natural, high-quality products quickly and in top condition to consumers,” the Governor stated.

The center is equipped with dedicated retail units, storage warehouses, and comprehensive logistics services, all aimed at increasing the export volume of agricultural goods from Uzbekistan.

It is planned that over 800 Uzbek citizens will be employed at the logistics center, with housing, food, medical services, and other essential facilities provided for the workers.

As part of the ceremony, the Fergana Exhibition Pavilion for agricultural products was also inaugurated. Following the ribbon-cutting, attendees visited an exhibition of Uzbek goods presented at the site.

Governor Bozorov engaged in direct dialogue with local entrepreneurs, listening to their proposals and concerns. He emphasized the need to further stimulate business activity in the market and agreed on specific steps to be taken in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

The festive event concluded with a vibrant cultural program featuring performances by renowned Uzbek artists and representatives of the Omsk Region’s House of Culture.
