Wreaths Laid at the Foot of the “Grieving Mother” Monument in Fergana in Honor of Remembrance and Honor Day In connection with May 9 — the Day of Remembrance and Honor, as well as the 80th anniversary of the great victory in World War II, commemorative events are being held across Fergana Region. On this occasion, early this morning, wreaths were solemnly laid at the foot of the “Motamsaro Ona” (“Grieving Mother”) monument located in the city center. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the regional government, heads of state and public organizations, war and labor veterans, youth, military personnel, and members of the general public. Governor of Fergana Khayrullo Bozorov, along with deputy governors, secretariat and department heads, laid a wreath on behalf of the regional administration and paid tribute to the memory of those who perished. Also participating in the ceremony were the command of the Eastern Military District, officials from the regional defense, law enforcement, and security agencies, as well as representatives of regional departments and broad segments of the public, who laid flowers at the memorial complex.
