The “Green Belt” project has officially commenced on a 270-hectare site adjacent to the Karkidon Water Reservoir in Kuva District. The launch ceremony was attended by Fergana Region Governor Khayrullo Bozorov, heads of regional sectors, representatives from various government bodies and organizations, members of the Nuroniy community, youth, and other civic leaders.

Governor Bozorov noted that the national “Green Space” project—initiated three years ago on the initiative of our President—has evolved into a true grassroots movement. He emphasized that these efforts are crucial for safeguarding our natural environment, transforming our country into a verdant haven, and enhancing its aesthetic appeal. The Governor highlighted that exemplary work has already been implemented in the region, and the new initiative at Karkidon stands as a tangible testament to these ongoing efforts, expressing his gratitude to everyone contributing to the region’s greening.

He further pointed out that over the past fifty years, former quarries and wastelands have been transformed into thriving forests and green zones, setting the stage for Karkidon to develop into a modern tourist and recreational complex—a destination that will appeal not only to our compatriots but also to international visitors.

With heartfelt prayers and well-wishes from the Nuroniy community, the “Green Belt” project was officially inaugurated. Regional sector leaders planted scenic tree saplings in the area, and thousands of local residents have already pledged their support to ensure the region remains pristine and prosperous.
