Cooperation Between Fergana and Ulsan Will Cover All Areas





The Governor of Fergana region, Khayrullo Bozorov, received a large delegation headed by the Mayor of Ulsan Metropolitan City of South Korea, Kim Do-Gyeom. During the meeting, it was emphasized that the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea is steadily developing, and in particular, interregional relations are reaching a new level. It was noted that the cooperation between Fergana region and Ulsan city is already yielding practical results. The Governor spoke about one of the key projects being implemented in Fergana — the Specialist Training Center established in cooperation with Ulsan city. It was highlighted that the first stage of the youth education program in the field of shipbuilding has been successfully completed. In the first stage, 104 young specialists were trained, and by the end of 2025, this figure is planned to be increased to 200, and by 2026 — to 300 specialists per year. The Governor expressed gratitude to the Mayor of Ulsan for his close support in implementing this program. As part of his visit, the Korean guest also visited the village of Shohimardon in Fergana district, where he got acquainted with the region's tourism potential, natural beauty, and attractions, which left a great impression on the delegation. The meeting also discussed issues of mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of migration, tourism, education, economy, culture, and other areas. The Mayor of Ulsan, Kim Do-Gyeom, provided information about the ongoing efforts to resolve visa issues for Uzbek students who graduated in Korea and to reform the system for their employment. He also emphasized the importance of directing investments to Fergana based on the projects agreed upon during meetings held in Tashkent. He noted that the time has come to establish friendly relations between Fergana and Ulsan. During the sincere dialogue, the parties agreed to expand cooperation areas based on new proposals and accelerate the implementation of planned initiatives. Responsible individuals were assigned, and specific measures were agreed upon.
