A modern IT hub equipped with advanced infrastructure and designed for training specialists in information technologies was officially launched in the Yangiyo‘l neighborhood of Tashlak District. The opening ceremony was attended by Fergana Region Governor Khayrullo Bozorov, Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov, sector specialists, deputy mayors from cities and districts, and youth representatives. Following the symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony, guests toured the newly established IT town and its facilities. The project was implemented in accordance with the Presidential Resolution dated May 15, 2024, “On organizing the activities of 'IT Towns' aimed at creating additional opportunities for youth to learn digital technologies and foreign languages in the regions.” As a result, an IT town with a capacity of 200 seats was constructed, providing educational opportunities for up to 1,500 young people in programming, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital services, robotics, and foreign languages. A total of 5.4 billion UZS was allocated for the center's construction. Additionally, the district administration constructed a compact container-based building for 200 million UZS, which now houses a “Startup Garage.” In his remarks, Governor Khayrullo Bozorov emphasized the growing importance of digital technology in Uzbekistan and the efforts being made to create modern opportunities for youth. “All necessary conditions are being created in our country to enable youth to master modern professions. Among them, learning information technology holds special significance. Therefore, we must continue expanding such IT centers across all districts and actively involve our youth,” said the governor. In 2024, the volume of informatization services in the region reached 587 billion UZS — a 115% increase compared to the previous year. The volume of software services amounted to 104 billion UZS, showing a 99.7% growth. The number of IT Park residents increased from 80 to 106, and employment in the sector grew from 797 to 1,397 jobs. Currently, 24 resident companies focus on IT exports, 33 on digital education, and 46 serve the domestic market. Their total service volume has exceeded 112.4 billion UZS. Within the framework of the “One Million Programmers” initiative, nearly 28,000 young people have received training in the IT field. Among them are professionals like Jahongirmirzo Ibrohimov, who collaborates with some of the world’s leading IT companies. Minister Sherzod Shermatov noted the growing demand for skilled professionals in the IT sector and emphasized the strategic importance of the new center in meeting that need.
