Fergana Region Governor Meets with German Ambassador to Uzbekistan

Governor of Fergana Region, Khairullo Bozorov, welcomed Manfred Huterer, Germany’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, to discuss trade and economic relations, investment cooperation, migration issues, and attracting German investors to the region. Governor Bozorov emphasized that Uzbekistan-Germany relations have entered a new phase, with interregional collaboration expanding steadily. The number of enterprises in Fergana with German capital participation is increasing. Last year alone, $78 million in foreign investment was attracted through joint projects with Germany, while ongoing projects currently amount to $158 million. Additionally, German language courses and vocational training centers have been established in Fergana to train skilled professionals in various fields. This initiative not only benefits Uzbekistan’s workforce development but also aligns with Germany’s growing demand for qualified specialists. In light of these developments, both parties agreed to strengthen interregional ties, facilitate business delegations from Germany to visit Fergana, and organize reciprocal visits for Fergana officials and entrepreneurs to Germany, further expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.
