Winners of the “Student Esports Games – 2025” National Championship Honored in Fergana A grand award ceremony for the winners of the final stage of the “Student Esports Games – 2025” National Championship was held at the Eco-City amphitheater in Fergana city. The event was attended by the Governor of Fergana region, Khayrullo Bozorov, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Sarvarxon Buzrukhonov, youth and students from universities across all regions of Uzbekistan, as well as a team from Kyrgyzstan. The competition was organized by the regional administration of Fergana and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation within the framework of implementing the Presidential Decree of November 16, 2022, "On Additional Measures for Further Development and Popularization of Esports." Governor Khayrullo Bozorov emphasized that this competition, held for the first time in Fergana, will contribute to developing the intellectual potential of young people and noted the growing popularity of this modern sport. He proposed to hold the “Student Esports Games” National Championship in Fergana annually and wished success to all participants. During the event, speakers emphasized that the main goal of the project is to popularize esports among young people, ensure its safe and systematic development, and train professional players. In the championship, which consisted of three stages, 64 teams and 300 selected finalists from all regions of the country competed in the finals. A total of more than 44,000 students from 210 higher education institutions and over 3,000 teams participated in the competition. More than 225,000 viewers followed the competition on social media, reflecting the project’s significant local, national, and global impact. During the event, the winners and nominees of various categories were announced. In particular, in the "Dota 2" discipline, the first place was awarded to the team from Webster University in Tashkent. The second place went to the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, and the third to Karakalpak State University. In the "Counter-Strike" discipline, the first place was claimed by the team from Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh. The second place went to Sabhram University from Jizzakh region, and the third to Webster University in Tashkent. In the "Just Dance" discipline, the first place was won by Uzbekistan State University of Physical Education and Sports from Tashkent region. The second place went to Tashkent State University of Economics, and the third to Andijan State Technical University. In the football esports competition, spectators witnessed an exciting match between the representatives of Tashkent University of Information Technologies and New Uzbekistan University. According to the final results, the New Uzbekistan University team took first place, Tashkent University of Information Technologies second, and Fergana Public Health Medical Institute third. The winners and nominees received championship trophies, cash prize vouchers, certificates, diplomas, medals, and memorable gifts. The team from Osh State University in Kyrgyzstan was also recognized for their active participation. Songs performed by pop singers Shohruhxon, Jahongir Poziljonov, and Jurabek Qodirov, dedicated to the homeland, love, and unity, uplifted the mood of the attendees and inspired the youth. A fireworks show lit up the night sky, adding to the festive spirit. The celebration continued around the musical fountain.
