A certificate awarding ceremony was held at the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) center in Fergana City for the first graduates of the Training Center established within the framework of practical cooperation with the metropolitan city of Ulsan, Republic of Korea. The solemn event was attended by the Governor of Fergana Region, Khayrullo Bozorov; the delegation led by Mayor of Ulsan Metropolitan City, Mr. Kim Do-Gyeom; Director of the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Behzod Musayev; heads of relevant departments and organizations, as well as graduates of the center. Within the first stage of the project, 104 young people successfully completed a two-month theoretical and one-month practical training course. They have now obtained the opportunity to commence direct employment in the shipbuilding sector at South Korea’s “Hyundai Heavy Industries” company under a work visa. In his speech, Governor Khayrullo Bozorov expressed gratitude to the Ulsan City Administration and “Hyundai Heavy Industries” for supporting the youth, noting that the center is a practical expression of Uzbekistan–Korea cooperation and plays a vital role in preparing skilled and knowledgeable personnel for the national industry. “At this center, our youth are learning the Korean language and gaining both theoretical and practical knowledge in shipbuilding and manufacturing. Through this project, we are not only providing our young people with decent job opportunities abroad, but also shaping new economic opportunities and advanced social guarantees in the field of education and labor migration. In October of this year, a visit of the Fergana delegation to Ulsan is planned, during which memoranda and agreements will be signed as part of establishing a sister region-city partnership,” said the Governor. Director of the Migration Agency, Behzod Musayev, also spoke at the event and reported that while 104 youths completed the first stage, 96 are enrolled in the second stage, and 107 are currently studying in the next group. He emphasized the growing interest among young people to participate in such programs. Mayor of Ulsan Metropolitan City, Kim Do-Gyeom, highlighted the practical benefits of interregional cooperation. It was also noted that the partnership between Fergana and Ulsan is expanding in the fields of economy, culture, tourism, and beyond. Special attention was drawn to the favorable conditions available in Fergana for Korean investments. As part of the event, a video clip reflecting the scope of cooperation was also presented. The young specialists, who are about to begin their professional activity in Korea, were sincerely congratulated and encouraged to contribute to the development of Uzbekistan through their knowledge, experience, and dedication. At the conclusion of the event, graduates were ceremoniously awarded certificates, while the most active participants in the training process received honorary certificates from “Hyundai Heavy Industries.”
