Major Lithium Battery Plant Construction Launched in “Qo‘qon Technopark” Special Industrial Zone

Direct foreign investment is fueling the implementation of industrial projects in various sectors — including electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and chemistry — within the “Qo‘qon Technopark” Special Industrial Zone. Today, another major initiative was launched: the construction of a lithium battery production facility. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Governor of Fergana Region Khayrullo Bozorov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev, as well as respected community elders and representatives of the public. During the event, attendees were briefed on the general master plan of the 230-hectare Qo‘qon Technopark and its future development projects. Following the presentation, the foundation stone was laid for a lithium battery manufacturing plant by “Hong Gang International” LLC, with $60 million in direct foreign investment from Chinese investors. The facility will occupy 4 hectares and have an annual production capacity of 1.4 million lithium batteries. The plant will be equipped with state-of-the-art technologies. As part of the project, products worth 708 billion UZS are expected to be manufactured annually, creating 300 permanent jobs. Governor Khayrullo Bozorov stressed the importance of completing the project on time and to a high standard. The ceremony concluded with blessings from the elders, marking the official start of construction.
